    The Yoruba deity Elegba (Exu in Brazil) governs the crossroads of life, symbolic of important decisions. This exquisite sculpture is surrounded by "pitchfork"-like imagery which is actually a symbolic depction of the crossroad. This figure also hold a staff very reminiscent of Yoruba diviners staffs which are often topped by a bird or birds.
