Victor Teodoro Caceres was born in Tilcara, Jujuy Province, in northern Argentina where he still lives today. A self-taught artist, he has reformulated the regional Holy Week tradition of paying homage to the suffering of Christ by parading images of the Stations of the Cross and other religious images through the village during the week before Easter. While renewing this tradition he has transformed it by creating his own images, mosaic-style, using dried natural flowers, local stones, dried corn silk kernels and other natural materials native to the region. He exhibits his works year around in his private “Museo de Ermitas Quebradenas”.
